My Year In Review - Question Style

I stole this from a blog I follow called Coffeypot.  Another questionnaire with interesting questions.  Quite fitting for my year in review.  Thanks coffeypot.

1. What did you do in 2010 that you’d never done before?
Blogging, and I am in love with it.

2. Did you keep your new year’s resolutions, and will you make more for next year?
None last year.  This year I resolve to not have road rage.  Ok, stop laughing.  You didn't let me finish.  I resolve not to have road rage on Sundays.

3. Did anyone close to you give birth?
No.  Dang it.  Oh wait, my next door neighbor did.  So yeah.

4. Did anyone close to you die?
No.  Thank goodness.  But some of my blogger friends did, and my heart goes out to them.

5. What countries did you visit?
I visited Sevier County Utah, and Gooding County Idaho.  Wait, did you say countries?  My bad

6. What would you like to have in 2011 that you lacked in 2010?
Blue skies in the month of December.  Honestly, I haven't seen blue skies all month and it is really starting to depress me.

7. What dates from 2010 will remain etched upon your memory, and why?
July 23rd.  My baby got married.

8. What was your biggest achievement of the year?
Not making it on the news for maiming a stupid driver

10. What was the best thing you bought?
Our house.  I love to be here.

11. Whose behavior merited celebration?
I would think that my cousin Michelle's little girl who went through a liver transplant this year.  She is so brave and cute.

12. Whose behavior made you appalled and disgusted?
The murder of 4 year old Ethan Stacy by his stepfather and mother.  May they burn in hell.

13. What song will always remind you of 2010?
Well, I don't really listen to music much.  So I'm going to go with What Child is This, because I did the video of the nativity that my granddaughter keep changing.  I will always think of that now when Christmas rolls around.

14. What do you wish you’d done more of?
Yikes, this is a hard question.  What do I wish I did more of.  I wish I created a meme that a lot of you would link up to.  It's just a little thing I ask.  tear, tear.  Oh wait, I did create a few meme's.  Dear...... is doing the best.

15. What do you wish you’d done less of?
Work, but then I wouldn't have things to blog about like, the piece of ABC gum that didn't make it to the garbage can or the day Brooklyn made me look like a stupid person on the phone.

16. Did you fall in love in 2010?
I fall more and more in love with my hubby every day.  He is the light of my life.

17. Who did you miss?
Not actually missing anyone this year, I will have to go with I missed hitting deer, after deer, after deer that think they own the neighborhood.  Even tho they are nice to look at.  Unless they are eating all your trees and bushes

18. Who was the best new person you met?
My cousin April.  She is 20 years younger than me, so we didn't grow up together, but we connected through facebook this year.  We are both the black sheep of our families so it is fitting that we have so much fun hanging together

There you have it.  Hope 2011 is a good one for you.  Oh, and by the way, 2011 is kind of weird to type.  Just Sayin.

I'm In Your Dreams....Sweet

Noelle, from Because Nice Matters left me a comment today.  She let us all on to the secret of her pregnancy earlier this month.  All of us that have been pregnant, know that we have some really strange dreams while with child.

She knows my extreme love for Shemar.  I don't know how.  Must be my constant talking about him.  Anycommentway, here is what she said.

"Here's a story for you. The other night I had a dream and your boyfriend was in it. He and I were hiking somewhere and I got stuck on a ledge and he was trying to rescue me. While stuck on that ledge I told him all about you and how you lived really close by and that I wanted to go to your house once I was unstuck. He agreed and was talking about how he would surprise you by kissing you. I woke up en route to your house...I had to pee. It was close miss dazee, really close!"

Is that just the best dream a friend could have!  Of course, preggo peeing had to get in the way of my kiss!!

Thanks Noelle.  You made my day.  I totally needed it too, with all this snow that babysister is praying for.  Would you please talk to her about that.  Thanks

This, That and The Other

By the time you get through this post, you will be scratching your heads wondering what in the hell was on Dazee's mind.  Well, this post is my mind.  Scary........  Plus all of these have just happened since Christmas Day.

This was my lunch yesterday.  Teriyaki steak and chicken, rice and the best macaroni salad ever.
It is from a place here in Salt Lake called Mo Bettah Steaks.  Yeah I left you the link so you could go look at all the awesomeness of their menu.  There's pictures.

Chili's to go parking.  Got a kick out of it so I thought I would share.

What do you get your hubby for Christmas when all that is on his list is Common Sense.   Oh yeah, I rock.
This little business is down the street from my work.  Take a look.  Victors Custom Wheels and  Restaurant.  Yup, cuz nothing tastes better than eggs, bacon, hash browns and pancakes with the lovely smell of rubber in the air.

Now a little update on my What A Sham post.  Yeah.  I unfollowed the blog, but my mind can't stand not knowing what other commenters said.  I went and checked last night.  Honestly, why do I do this to myself.  Here is the comment I put

Congrats to all the winners!

WTH.  Jennifer honey, you won 11 of 40 prices.  Are you congratulating yourself?

One last thing.  I didn't have the internet all day at work yesterday.  Not only couldn't I do work related internet stuff, but I wasn't able to go into blog land.  So I have this question.  Please feel free to answer in the comment section.

A DAY WITHOUT THE INTERNET, IS LIKE..........
being at Walmart behind a "walmart person" without your camera.

Dear....... 12.28.10

Dear…

Who wants to play Dear...... with me today?  Anyone, Buehler.  OK, well, I will play it by myself then.   If by chance you decide you would like to, grab my little code over there, and link on up.  Remember you can write positive letters or negative ones.  It's all good.

Dear Hot Shower.  I know that I write to you all the time, but you never let me down.  Please know how much you mean to me and my day.

Dear Criminal Minds.  I see that you are making a spin off.  I also saw that Garcia will be on that show.  Ummm, just wondering, you aren't doing away with the original are you.  Because if I don't get a weekly fix of my boyfriend, it will not be a pretty sight.  But, if you need someone to have him call babygirl, I can do the job.  Call Me.

Dear Holidays.  I have to say, I am glad you are almost over.  In reality, you are over because I really don't care for the whole stay up till midnight thing for New Years.  REM sleep.  That's what I love.  P.S.  Just remind me, when I start complaining that I don't get another paid holiday until Memorial Day.  K.  Thanks

Dear Random.org.  We are through.  Not because I don't ever want to win anything, but apparently you are fixed.  You can be paid off.  It's not who you know its who you, ummmm, (family blog, family blog) REALLY KNOW, wink wink.

Dear Hubster.  Thanks so much for the Keurig coffee maker and purple slow cooker.  This was my best christmas ever!!!  Well, the Christmas you proposed was my best christmas ever.  But that was a long time ago.  OK, then there was the Christmas you gave me my anniversary ring.  All right, all right, this is one of the best Christmases ever.  And yes, dear followers, my hubby reads my blog.  That's why I was hinting so much.

This my friends, closes another edition of Dear..... Please play along.  You will feel so much better.  I promise.

My Laminated List

You all know me.  If I am scanning the blogs that I follow, and they happen to have a meme that I want to link up with, I do.  I'm kind of a dork that way.

Today on Midwest MOMments, she is running her laminated list.  You know, those celebs that are on your list of "whom you would kiss, and would be allowed to kiss by your hubby/wife", (thanks hon) if you ever had the chance.  And yes, hubby has a list too.  So don't you get all "that's disgusting" with me.  Cuz we all know, I'm not your normal gal.  I'm pretty disgusting most the time.  And that's why you read me, admit it.

She asked who our top 10 were.  Ummm, I had a hard time coming up with 8, so that will have to do.  Should we begin?

Numero Uno
Shocker
Boyfriend Shemar Moore
(heart palpitations)
Please, please call me babygirl.  Damn Garcia.  You get all the fun
Number 2 on my list.  Christopher Meloni aka Elliot.   Have you seen the muscles on this guy.  Oh my.  And don't ya just love it when there is sexual tension between characters.  Him and Olivia, two of my favorite characters with that tension.
Number 3 is actually Number 3 and 4.  Brad Pitt I would kiss.  He's just hot.  Unless he has that really strange beard thing he had going last year, then not some much.  And yes, I would totally kiss Angelina, she is number 4.  Anyone that can look that good pregnant is hot in my book.  Of course, there is you diehards that think she is satans mistress since he left Jennifer Aniston for her.  I would leave Jennifer for her too.  Got it.  mmkkk
Number 5.  Mark Harmon aka Gibbs.  He has definitely gotten better looking with age.  Didn't do much for me when he was younger, but now, hubba hubba.  And Abby is my favorite character on NCIS.  I love how he is like a father figure to her.
Number 6.  Denzel Washington.  I especially think he is hot with the 5 o'clock shadow going.  I liked him before John Q.  But omg, when a man can cry over the love of his child, I even loved him more.
Number 7.  Robert Redford.  My friend Pam is always telling me that she has seen him in person and he is short and ugly.  So, he was hot at one point in his life.  And when he played in the Horse Whisperer, mega hot.  K.  I'd kiss him.

Number 8.  Neil Diamond.  I know that a lot of you are scratching your heads right now, wondering if I have gone over the deep end.  First of all, he is dark like my hubby.  I also think this man has aged beautifully.  Have you seen him man in concert?  Oh my.  I have, and was close enough to the stage that I was giddy with excitement.  And when he sang You Don't Bring Me Flowers, and kissed a lady in the audience, I was so jealous.  Best concert ever!!!

There you have it.  My top 8 people that I would kiss.  Or whatever.  I kid, I kid.  Geez.

What A Sham

Here's the thing.  I love to enter the giveaways that some of you are lucky enough to do.  I always believed I would have a chance of winning.  But today, I have decided I'm not entering any more of these shams.  I'm sure that most of you are legitimate.  And I might just loose followers over this post, but damn, when you are having a giveaway during Christmas which equaled 40 giveaways, and one of the enterers won 27.5% of the giveaways (11 to be exact), another won 12.5% (5), and another won 10% (4)  something doesn't seem right in Denmark.

I decided to look up the word Sham on Dictionary.com

SHAM

–noun

1. something that is not what it purports to be; a spurious imitation; fraud or hoax.  check

2. a person who shams; shammer.  check

3. a cover or the like for giving a thing a different outward appearance: a pillow sham.  in a way check

–adjective

4. pretended; counterfeit; feigned: sham attacks; a sham Gothic fa├žade.  check

5. designed, made, or used as a sham.  check

–verb (used with object)

6. to produce an imitation of.  check

7. to assume the appearance of; pretend to have: to sham illness.  check

–verb (used without object)

8. to make a false show of something; pretend. check, double check, triple check

Am I jealous?  Yes, but it would be understandable if there were 40 different winners.  And yes, I did the unfollow button.  She won't miss me with over 900 followers.  Just sayin.

Scavenger Hunt Sunday - 12.26.10

Time once again to do the Scavenger Hunt.  Brought to us by the ever talented Ashley at Ramblings and Photos.  I always feel inferior to a lot of the people that do this meme.  But heck, I'm having a great time.  Makes me try harder to be better at what I'm taking.

1.Family

Christmas day.  So much fun.  I love it when I have all my grandkids around.  They light up my life.

2.Motion Blur
At first I was thinking I would never get a photo of this prompt.  But then, it happened.  It's a car lot with all it's lights aglow.  I think it turned out awesome.

3.Pretty Package
The Christmas present my daughter gave me.  I love the way she wraps presents.  I'm just the wrap it and if you are lucky I might put a bow on it kind of gal.  It was a Burt's Bees gift box.  My kids know me too well.

4.Glow
I know you are asking what this photo has to do with glow.  Well, I was with my cousin, we were having a nice dinner at Olive Garden, and ordered strawberry daiquiris.  We were glowing with delight from the first sip on.

5.Sparkle
My daughter-in-law's wedding rings.

Too much fun.  You really should try this.  Its a cool challenge week after week.

There won't be a scavenger hunt next sunday.  Dang.  Whatever am I going to do with my time.

I Must Have Been A Good Girl

I saw this link on a blog that I follow and thought I would link along.  Yeah, I excited for my gifts, what can I say.
Unknown Mami

This is brought to us by Unknown Mami.  Check her out.  She is awesome

 Dear Santa,
Thank you so much for the gifts you brought me.  I love them already.

How did you know I wanted the purple slow cooker?  It wasn't on my list.  The handle on the lid is even purple.  So, so, cool.
I am in 7th heaven over the other gift you brought me.  I could hardly contain my excitement.   If I could have jumped up off the couch I would have.  But there were toys and stuff all around.

I was too excited to try it out to even rearrange the counter first.  I'm sure my cute hubby has taken care of that for me.  He rocks like that.

A Very Peaceful Night

Jenny Matlock

Merry Christmas to you all.  I hope that your day is everything you had hoped it would be.  I am following along once again with Jenny Matlocks Saturday Centus.  This is where she gives us a prompt, and we have up to 100 words to write something using it.  I have highlighted the prompt in blue.

It was a very peaceful night with little to no traffic on the streets. I was roaming around my apartment, warming my hands with a steaming cup of coffee, when I glanced out the window. I spotted a lone person, navigating his electric wheelchair through the snow.

He stopped at the beautiful old church, drawn by the sounds of the children’s choir. As if pulled by some kind of magic, the white-bearded fat man rolled through the church doors. As he neared the choir, the children surrounded him and felt a peace they had never felt before. This was going to be a Christmas that they would never forget.

 Merry Christmas

And So It Is Finally Christmas

It is 6:23 PM, Christmas Eve.  Life is soooo different when you don't have any kids living at home.  Well, I kind of do, as they live in the basement, but they are their own family.  Me and hubby are just hanging out, doing our own thing.  Him napping, me sitting at my laptop.

I remember when my kids were little.  We would have Christmas Eve dinner.  It was always the way we did it.  After cleaning up, we would get in the car and go in search of neighborhoods that had cool christmas lights. After we got home we would let them open their brother/sister gifts.  That was always fun.  One year my oldest son bought his sister a can of hairspray.  I didn't even remember that till she brought it up to him on facebook the other day.

I am grateful that I won't be getting up at the crack of dawn in the morning.  Unless I hear the pitter patter of little feet running into our room to show us what Santa left.  I am grateful that my granddaughter that was diagnosed with asthma finally had a night of uninterrupted sleep.  I am grateful for all my kids and the joy they bring to me.

A great big Merry Christmas to all my blogging friends.  You are all the best authors I have ever read.  And the best part is the "book" is neverending.  Always a brand new chapter to read.

Sleep tight, Santa's on his way.

My Favorite Holiday Songs - Josh Groban - O Holy Night

O Holy Night is number one on my list of favorite holiday songs.  There is just something about it that makes my soul feel good.  Josh Groban is also one of my favorite singers.  Sit back and enjoy.

BeCaUsE nOtHiNg SaYs CHrIsTmAs LiKe.............

 A Covered Wagon.

Yup, didn't you know, it's one of the most popular Christmas images there is.  What?  You have never heard that?  Well it's true.  Apparently our little town didn't have enough of the "christmas" light things to put up so they added the covered wagons.  Head on out little doggies.
It was very foggy this morning.  Not bad photo taking skills. :)

On the other random news front.  I totally saved my daughter-in-laws life yesterday.  We were driving home from work and someone told all the stupid drivers it was their day to drive.  I know, right.  Brake lights were slamming on, pickup truck behind me didn't notice, water on the road, slammed on my own brakes while watching pickup truck not slowing down behind me.  All of the sudden, with a mind of its own, my arm flung across her chest to save her from going through the window.  Yes, I know she had her seatbelt on.  But I knew, that without the help of my arm, she would go flying.  She is struggling to breathe from the massive strength of my arm, but I did not remove it until all was safe.  I rock, I know.

Lastly, a little crazy questionnaire I found that I knew you would just love to know the answers to.  Go ahead and steal them if you like.  We'll call it my Christmas present to you.

I can't get to sleep without?
 Peeing first

If I were a doll, the accessories packaged with me would be:
A awesome coffee mug and a laptop

I have an irrational fear of:
Being murdered.  Watching my boyfriend all the time does not help this fear

What type of food do you eat at your grandparents house?
Well, considering the fact that both sets of my grandparents are in the great restaurant in the sky, I would have to say, ummmm, donuts.  Yeah, cuz isn't heaven supposed to be sweetness and stuff.

What weight were you when you were born?
7 lbs 7 ozs

I am most opposed to:
Abuse.  Any type.  Child, physical, sexual, EMOTIONAL.  I'm hoping there is a special place on the outskirts of hell for those people.  Why the outskirts you ask?  Because we already know that I'm headed to hell myself.  Remember, gravestone, "party at my place"

I am too old to be:
Doing a cartwheel.  Ok, probably not too old, just too voluptuous

Next door to my house is:
An empty house.  There are some of you out there that I wish would buy it so we could be neighbors

My feet are:
Happier without shoes and socks

I know how to cook:
A mean spaghetti.  Yeah, it will yell at you if you don't like it. :)

I am annoyed at:
Stupid drivers.  I know, big fat shocker there

What sea creature scares you?
Jelly fish.  They are mean.  They will sting you.  Then someone will have to pee on the spot of your stinging.  Just sayin

What color hair do most of the people you are around have?
Light colored hair.  I think that it is a Utah genetic thing.  In the genes or something.

What object have you broken most recently?
A DVD that I was trying to make.  Pissed me off.  Broke it in half.  Can you say anger management?

What was the last thing to make you cry?
When my son left working with me for the last time

I would like to be in an advertisement for:
Criminal Minds.  Me and boyfriend.  And he can call me baby girl in it.  Watch out Garcia

My favorite shoes are:
Flip Flops

Do you prefer beaches or forests?
Beaches.  Too many dead people in the forests.  What?

There you have it.  Yet some more useless info about me.  Hope you enjoyed your little "present".  It's all I could afford to give you all.

Until Next Time

My Favorite Holiday Songs - Silver Bells - John Denver

My age is showing on picking a song by John Denver.  You younguns out there missed out on some good music by this man.

This One Day At Work.........

If you chance to meet a frown
Do not let it stay.....

 Quickly turn it upside down
And smile that frown away

What?  I was bored.  OK.  Geez

Then Shawn Bradley of pro basketball fame came in to buy some plumbing items.   All 7'6" of him.  People, he is freaking tall.

I thought about doing one of those "Christmas Letters".  I have never done one of them in my life.  Why, you ask?  Because I remember even when I was a young person, yes, many, many moons ago, that I never understood why people would write them.  "Susie is graduating with a 4.0".  "Johnny has never said a swear word in his life".  You know, perfect family life with no problems.   Heavens, my whole year in review would never be that good.  Shall we give it a whirl.

Merry Christmas from the House of Dazee

Dear Peeps,
Gosh almighty, another year is finally coming to a close.   It's been a real doosie at Casa Dreamer.

The year started out in the Extended Stay From Hell.  6 Months and counting.  But the good news was, we finally closed on our house in February.  Thank goodness for small wonders.

March 21st  brought my first foray into the blogging world.  Oh, I was so tender and mild then.  Little did I know that I was entering a whole new world.  (insert that song here)  Pissing people off right and left.

Spring sprang and we began our war with the HOA.  Those wild and crazy guys.  Always on us to get our landscaping in.  Gosh, I should send them a Christmas card.  Ok, maybe not.

With the summer heat, came the marriage of my baby.  You think it's hard sending your baby to school for the first time, wait till you see them walking down the aisle.

Oh wait, I'm supposed to tell you about my kids.  See this is why I could never write one of these in the past.   Gosh, hmmmm, what do I say that doesn't sound all cheesy.

My daughter has graduated in the craftiness department with a 4.0.  Her place is always decorated to the max.  And no, she most certainly didn't get it from me.

My oldest son, also a 4.0 student but in being a great husband and father.  They just found out their 4 year old daughter is deathly allergic to dogs.  Epi pen adventures to come.

My youngest son, well, I'm still mad at him for accepting a better job and leaving me in hell, so he is only graduating with a 3.9.

My Hubby is chomping at the bit to get back outside and get some more landscaping done.  That man-o-mine, such a hard worker.

Me, well, I just continue to be weird.   Surprised, aren't you.  Love and kisses

Dazee

There you have it, my first and last Christmas letter.

Only 3 more wake ups till Christmas Day.  Unless you wake up all the time during the night, like some people I know, then it will be more.  I don't know about you, but I can hardly wait.

My Favorite Holiday Songs - What Child Is This

Christmas Day is almost here.  Only 3 more nights of songs.  Oh don't cry little chick-a-dees.  There will be other times that I bore you to death do something like this again.

Tonight's is an original video made by me, put to the music of Josh Groban

Isn't she the cutest thing ever!!!  One night her sister, Miss L, changed it up a bit, and she was mighty upset.  She asked me who did it with her hands on her hips and a look of disgust on her face.  I didn't want to get Miss L in trouble, so I said I didn't know.  She proceeded to blame her bapa.

Kids, they are certainly the joy of Christmas

Dear....... 12.21.10

Dear…

It's here, it's here.  It's time for our Dear...... letters.  I know you are all chomping at the bit to link on up.

Now, if you happen to not know what our Dear....... letters are, they are letters, be them good or bad, to those that we need to say just a bit of something to.

Grab my little Dear..... button there over on the side and have at it.

Dear Bug Sprayer Dude.  Please believe me when I say that we have never hired you to spray our building for bugs.  If I was going to call anyone to spray, it would be for mice.  Oh, and please don't give me a dirty look when I say you have never been here before.  Maybe you should have looked on the building as you were walking in to see if you were at the right place.  But, because it's the holiday season, you have a very buggy Christmas.

Dear Person Walking and Talking On Your Cell Phone After Doing Your Business In The Bank.  Dude, there were cars hurriedly pulling in off the busy street WAITING for you to walk across the parking lot to your car.  Could you in the future, walk a little faster.  You were causing a mess.  May you live long and prosper.

Dear People Jogging In The Snow.  Gosh, I'm so glad that you are soooo healthy and such that you must jog....every.....freaking.....morning.  Do you live by the post office motto?  Not rain, nor snow nor dead of night, a jogger is my dastardly plight.  Please get your jogging self out of the middle of the road.  They are slippery.  I don't want to kill you, but if I do, it's your fault.  One day will not kill you.  May Santa bring you a treadmill.

Dear Salad Eating Driver Getting On The Freeway.  Dude, there are some foods you can eat and drive with.  Like a small hamburger, or fries.  But when you have a salad, with a fork, and you are trying to steer a car onto the freeway while shoveling salad into your mouth is not right.  Healthy salad, GOOD, getting crunched by a driver that could care less about your health, BAD.  May you still be alive and well for Christmas.

Dear Readers Of My Blog.  You rock.  No really, you do.  I love to see your comments, and hope that I can bring at least a little smile to your face.  I truly hope that each and every one of you have a great week.  May we all think about those that are going through horrible hardships right now.  They need our special thoughts and prayers.  To all of you that I follow, thank you for sharing your life with me.  I laugh when you laugh, cry when you cry, and hurt when others are hurting you.  I sometimes wonder what I did before taking a peak into your lives everyday.

Ralphie Got Nuttin' for Christmas

One of the best Christmas movies, with a great song to go along with it.  Poor Ralphie.

Its All In The Name

Today, you are all going to be sooooo lucky.  Ok, maybe not.  I am going to Vlog.  First of all, yikes, scary looking Dazee, but hey, it's all good.  Second, my brain is a rebel.  It looks at some names of companies out there and goes to places that it probably should not go.

If you are offended by me being crazy and the name of some of the companies that I am going to talk about, then you best just X out.  Now, it is all PG stuff, so don't worry.  Just putting out the disclaimer so you all don't have a freak out when you are watching.

I could have kept doing takes of this, but honestly, I scare myself looking at me, so I just went with it.  If I ramble, remember, I'm old. Yeah, that's what it is.

There you have it.  A day in the life of Dazee.

The End. :)

My Favorite Holiday Songs - Still, Still, Still - Mary Chapin Carpenter

I haven't ever listened to Mary Chapin Carpenter, but found this rendition to be rather nice of a song I really like.
