I Spy - Tradition

Photobucket
Yeah, I know, I'm a day late and a dollar short for this weeks I Spy.  But, one of my favorite mantra's, better late than never.

This weeks prompts are Tradition and Your Choice.  A holiday week.  No better prompt than this.  I bet all of you have photo's you can show off.  Don't be shy, show them off.  I promise if you will, Christy's Madness will not show up at your house.  I like to give her a bad time, but then she always points out that my blog is called, Crazy Daze & Nite Dreams.  Speaking of crazy dreams, you should have seen the doosie I had the other night involving Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie.  But that might be for another time.

TRADITION

My mom has always put out many decorations at Christmas time.  I was up at their house before her surgery and snapped some of the stuff she puts out every year.

This is a Christmas Tree that her Aunt crocheted.  Even the little presents under the tree are handmade either by needle point or other ways.

Another Tradition of my mom's is all kinds of different manger scenes.  This one has huge wise men on camels, And then all the figurines.

Of all her mangers tho, I love this one.  It is made entirely of rocks.  Everyone wants her to make them one.

MY CHOICE

The tradition of family get togethers.  This is the first time since Mr. G was born that we had all the grandkids together.  They were working on a play that day.  Love those kids.  They make my heart feel joy.

Please show off your traditions.  I could use the smiles.

I Spy - Historic

Photobucket
This week has flown by.  Most likely because I've been spending time up at the hospital.
I hope you are all ready to join Miss Christy's Mad Mind and myself for this weeks I Spy.  Your prompts this week are HISTORIC and YOUR CHOICE.
Today I was glad to be headed to the hospital.  The one where my mom is at, is up in the Avenues of Salt Lake, where a lot of the homes are from back in the early 1900's.   I love the Avenue area.  All the homes have their own personality.  Not like the sub-divisions of today.   I took most of these photo's today out of my car window.   See, that's how easy the rules are for this meme.
HISTORIC
This is  one of the larger homes, that has now been converted into an office.  I actually can't believe it still has leaves hanging on for dear life, on December 18th.

Loved the look of this one.  It was begging me to stop and go inside.

This is just a little plain one close to the hospital.  I thought it looked quaint.

MY CHOICE

I took a photo of the hospital my mom is in.  Not because she is there, but because all three of my children were born in this hospital.  My family started right here.  That in itself is historic.

I could have spent all day just driving every street in the Avenues, snapping picture after picture.  But, there was the thing about going to help my mom.  Tee-hee-hee

Nothing Says Happy Holidays Like You're Fired....

I've had two long turn jobs since I graduated from high school.  The first one I was at for 23 years.  The company I worked for got bought out by a big corporation, and therefore, I was expendable because, (A) I was a women, but (B) I made too much money.  So sorry, we are reducing our force.

The second one, was the dear sweet you are so important to us  you're fired because you hate your job, was a 10 year waste of my time place.

In each of these cases, I was layed off a week before Thanksgiving.  Yes, both times.

Why do I bring this up?  We have a TV station here.  KTVX, which is the local ABC network.  Apparently they got bought out, and this week they have "layed off" around 20 of their employees.  Honest to Pete, CEO's and owners of companies, cough, BF owner of last company I worked for, cough, have no compassion.   The holidays are supposed to be times of joy and wonder.  Not pain and wondering what you are going to do.

All I can hope, is karma takes a big ole chunk off their butts sometime.

Because of the article in the paper about the lay off's, Mr. Dazee wrote a little jingle.  I just had to share it with you.  It is to the tune of "God Rest Ye Merry Gentlemen"

~ God rest ye weary gentlemen
upon this winters day...
Remember corporate CEO's
will send you on your way...
With greed and cuts and pink slips
you'll be on your weary way...
O-O' tidings of comfort and joy
comfort and joy
O-O' ti-i-dings of com-um-fort and joy. ~

*Tis the season to be fired, Fa-la-la-la-la....la-la-la-la...*

Merry Christmas to all, and to all good luck

My Day At The Hospital......Or.....Why They Will Be Getting My Bill

Day:  Monday, December 17, 2012
Time:  8:45 AM
Where:  LDS Hospital, Salt Lake City Utah

Yesterday, I had the pleasure of taking my mom to the hospital for a hip revision surgery.  Three years ago she had her left hip replaced.  About a month ago, she slipped while walking into her bathroom and landed on said hip.  She thought the pain would go away after a few days.  (hmmmm, wonder where I got that from).  Two weeks later she finally went to the doctor and he said, yes there was a crack, but things were healing nicely.  She started feeling better, but then, wham, the pain returned a hundred fold.

As in all things doctor, the orthopedic doctor said, "I think you have an something going on that isn't part of your hip".  Then, as in all things stupid dumbass insurance companies, she had to go to her primary care physician to have that checked.  He took a blood test, everything came back normal, prescribed her some Percocet which she took that night, and found out she was allergic to it because it intensified the pain.  NOT GOOD!!!

Next day, she went back to the ortho guy, he took another xray, said, wowza, it is getting worse in there.  Surgery was scheduled.

Anystupidhospitalstorylater, Spending the day at the hospital made me come up with a list of things that I don't understand. and will bill them for.

My mom could barely stand up, let alone walk.  After she got signed in, the nurse comes out, calls her name and asks her to walk into the room which is about a mile away, ok, not that far, but maybe 25 feet.  I help my mom up, she moves a few feet, pain all over her face, the nurse FINALLY says, "should I get a wheelchair".  Umm no Sherlock, she might make it there in a few hours.  She gets a wheelchair, but then again, proceeds to tell her she will have to walk to the scale and then she can sit in the wheelchair.

I am going to hurt the bitch.   Where is the sensitivity training.  Not all people that are going in for surgery can walk around.

#2
Support socks.  Whose idea of a torture chamber where these?  "Doctor wants these on for the surgery".  Oh really, doctor can put them on patient, after she is knocked out.  Have I mentioned she can't move????  Or here's another thought, HELP HER, WILL YOU!
Hospital Personel 0......Dazee 2

#3
Dude from Surgery, hereafter known as DFS, shows up to the room with the gurney.  PARKS IT IN THE HALLWAY!!  DFS says to mom, "I need you to walk out to the gurney".  I became livid.  "Not gonna happen",  I tell him.  She can barely walk.  DFS, "well I guess I will have to bring the gurney in here".  She must make 2 steps.  2 STEPS people, he doesn't help her up off the bed.  I step in, help her, lift her legs up on the bed, get her comfy, all the while staring daggers at DFS.

Me and my dad have just had a consultation with the doctor.  He informs us that they went in and all looked good.  Until he cut through the muscle, at which time, "tons of pus and blood", his words, started oozing out.  He had to clean that all out, send blood samples and tissue samples to the lab to have cultures done, to find out what kind of infection they are dealing with.  If its an infection that will clear up fast, she will have to go back on the 2nd of January to finish her hip revision.  If it is a bad one, 6 weeks of heavy IV antibiotic therapy, and surgery in about 3 months.

Bad news is, he couldn't put the replacement ball and socket back in.  She has nothing there right now.  Will have to go around in a wheelchair or the awesome jazzy chair one of the people that live in their retirement place let her borrow.
Doctor 1......Dazee 3

Go back into surgery waiting room until they tell us what room they will be taking her to.  One of my sisters calls me since her fingers couldn't text everything she wanted to ask, after I sent the text to all the sibs about what was going on.  I tell her what he said, she is asking a few questions.  I hear, while on the phone with her, the man beside me start complaining to his wife that it was so noisy in there with everyone on their phones.  So sorry, POSG (piece of shit garbage).  Go stand in the hall.
POSG 0.....Dazee 4

He's just lucky I didn't slam the butt of my hand up into his nose, like I've learned about in the thriller murder books I read.  :)

When we got to my mom's room and were waiting for her to come from the recovery room, I have to say, those nurses and her CNA were awesome.  They got me and my dad a coke on ice, and were so helpful and careful with my mom.

My bill will also include pain and unnecessary suffering that they caused her.

My total charge will be, $50,000 dollars.  Nobody makes my mom hurt!!!!!

Sunday Social 12.16.12

Sunday Social
Oh happy, snowy, wintery day from my corner of the world.  Yeah, it's a winter wonderland.  I'm cool with it because it is the holiday season, but starting January 1st, no more.  Got it mother nature.  ok, good.
Whilst going through the plethora of blogs I follow, I came upon this gem today.  So I'm linking on up.  It is from a blog called A Complete Waste of Makeup.
Lets get rolling like the snowballs, shall we.

What is the wallpaper on your cell phone
I know, you are shocked and amazed that I would have butterflies as my wallpaper.  The color really is more purple.  The color inside the butterflies is purple.

What do you keep beside your bed
Mostly dust as you can see.  My alarm clock, phone charger, blistex, my GPS that I keep forgetting to put back in the car, notes and such.

What is your least favorite chore
Hate, hate, hate doing dishes.  Closely followed by folding clothes.  Don't mind throwing them in the washer and dryer, just the folding and putting away.

If you could eliminate one thing from your daily routine, what would it be
Someone, please hire me!!!!!!
What do you do to vent anger
I admit it.  When I get very, very angry, I will swear like a sailor.  I can spout off a whole paragraph.  Hide your kids if I get mad. :)

What is your favorite holiday of the year and why
I love Thanksgiving.   Yummy food, spending time with my kids and grandkids.

That last photo really makes me hungry.............

I Spy - Tracks

Photobucket
Guess what, guess what, guess what?   It's time for I Spy.  I can hardly contain my excitement.
Please join Christy's Mad Mind and myself in our little photo meme.  Any camera is ok.  We give you two prompts.  One is always and forever YOUR CHOICE and the other changes weekly.  This week it is TRACKS.  You can always go traditional or outside of the box.  Me, I'm an outside of the box kind of gal.  Let's get this show on the road, shall we.
TRACKS
We got a ton of snow over the weekend.  You are going to see a photo montage of tracks in the snow.
Dazee's Tracks

Deer scampering out of the yard tracks, the day I opened the door and screamed at them.   I think I scared them more with my sleeping apparel.

Closer up look at the deer tracks.

Dog tracks.  I took this over at the park by our house.  It's funny how all the dog tracks went from tree to tree with a bunch of the tracks surrounding each tree.  This one wasn't too bad.

Human Tracks.

I'm not sure what this track is.  I think maybe it was big foot, but I haven't heard of any sightings in my area.  You tell me what you think.  It was in my back yard, close to the house.  du-du-du-du-du

Tire Tracks.

MY CHOICE

I was looking through all my photo's and came across this one.  It was taken a couple of summers ago before the landscaping went in.  The boys just roasting hot dogs and chillin together.

Now it's your turn.  Don't make me TRACK you down and hurt you so you will link up.

Voice Of An Angel

Jenny Matlock

I am so glad that I decided to start doing Jenny Matlocks Saturday Centus again.  It gives those creative juices somewhere to go.

This week she gave us a picture that we needed to write about.  We can only use up to 100 words and write it in first person.  As in, the little guy in this picture.

Voice Of An Angel

I was running around, minding my own business when I saw her.   She was whispering in Santa’s ear about her wishes for the season.

It was love at first sight.  Why hadn’t I seen her before?  I scampered
closer.  No one was the wiser that I was there.

Then I heard her voice.  It was the voice of an angel.
“Oh Santa”, she said, “please bring me a special someone that I may spend the rest of my days with”.

She looked over her shoulder at me.  Our eyes met.  This was going to be the best Christmas ever!

I Spy - Ridiculous

Photobucket
*knock, knock*  Is anybody there?  I see you reading.  Oh yes, with that magic eye of mine.  I know you are just waiting for us to put up the link so you can join in the fun with myself and Christy, who has a very Mad Mind.
Grab your camera, take some photo's of the prompts we give you and link on up.  I know for a fact that some of you have new camera's.  Yes, a little bird told me so.  Now there is no excuse.  This weeks prompts are RIDICULOUS and YOUR CHOICE.  Believe me, we have all taken those shots of when we are wild and crazy and ridiculous.  Show them off.  It will be fun.
RIDICULOUS
I know I've shown this one before, but there is a method to my madness.  I will usually pull a ridiculous face when I have my picture taken.  That is, if I allow it at all.  I got that fine quality from my mom.
This next one is the madness that I referred to above.  My oldest son cracks me up constantly.  Here he is being a ridiculous nerd for Halloween one year.  See, the nut doesn't fall far from the tree.
I could have posted yet more photo's of the ridiculous amount of road construction going on around here, but, I'm sparing you this week.  You're welcome.
MY CHOICE
Mr. Dazee has been working on the landscaping in our yard for the last three summers.  The other day, yes the day of much joy and shouting for joy, he wheeled the last wheelbarrow full of left over rocks out of the yard.
Here he is in his "hallelujah" pose

One of these days, I will post photo's of all the finished landscaping.

Now it's your turn.

David's Life

Jenny Matlock
I haven't participated in this for a super long time.  Probably because I had gone to the dark side.  But now, I'm back, better than ever.   I love that Jenny goes Off On A Tangent for us all to join.
She gives us a prompt, we have to use it in our writing and this week we only have 100 more words we can use.  The prompt will be in red.

As she paced the hospital floor, the only thought that went through her mind, was it just last week that David left for school and never came home?

He was small for being a fourteen year old.  So funny and full of life.  A little different than the other kids.  He had started complaining that people were being mean to him.  She told him to hold his head up, and turn the other cheek.  She wished she had never told him that.

That afternoon she felt in her soul that something awful had happened.  Then the doorbell rang................

I actually drew off of an incident that happened 2 days ago where I live.  You can read about it here.

Bullying has got to stop.
Too many lives are being affected because of all the hatred.
