Scavenger Hunt Sunday - 7.10.11

Here I go again, being sucked into photo taking.  But I love it.  Thanks Ashley.

Weather

This photo was taken yesterday, July 9, 2011.  The temps outside, in the 80's.  We had so much snow this year it still covers the tops of the mountains.  In fact, Snowbird Ski Resort was open for skiing July 4th.

Dearest Jacob

Jenny Matlock

I have to say, this weeks prompt was actually an easy one to come up with.  I knew what I wanted to say in my heart, but keeping it to 100 words plus the 4 word prompt was hard.  That's why you have to love Jenny.  She makes you think harder about saying the same thing in fewer words.  Thanks Jenny.

As always, the prompt is in blue.

DEAREST JACOB

It was his first day in Afghanistan, and he was terrified.  On the long flight there everyone was pumped.  Why wasn’t the adrenaline kicking in.

He closed his eyes and saw Julie, standing there crying.  When he turned that last time to wave goodbye, she was holding up a sign.

He did love his country, but he loved Julie so much more.   It just wasn’t right that he had to leave her, after finding out the horrible news.

Tears streaming down his face, he saw it again,  and the sign read

DEAREST JACOB, I LOVE YOU TODAY, TOMORROW, FOREVER.
NEVER FORGET

I have also included this video, because it is actually a song that I have always liked.   The words rang true back when it came out, and they still ring true today.

Life Begins...........

Happy July 7, 2011

Our assignment today from Miss Jenny is the letter L.  What a fine day for this assignment to come due.
Why?

Because, 54 long, years ago, my mother gave birth to a bouncing baby girl.

Dazee Dreamer

My LIFE began on this day.
Mom was laying around, wondering if the large belly of hers was ever going to be gone.  It was a Sunday.  The sun was shining, the birds were singing, a bright light shone above. (wait, that was just the delivery room light) my bad.

Mom went into labor.
The date:  7/7/57
The time:  1:07 PM
The weight:  7 lbs 7 oz

My life has been full of laughter, laziness, loving, loneliness, and
Lollipops
I've always loved this picture.  I don't even know why.  Maybe it reminds me of times when life was carefree.  Or it could be just the randomness of it.  "Dazee, go stand in front of the fridge, I want to get a picture of you". Look at those lovely locks.  I have been cursed blessed with naturally curly hair.  At times in my life I hated it.

Here I am at maybe age 2.  I'm looking rather uninterested.  But I'm rocking a cute coat and shoes.

I lost many teeth.
I've lost weight and gained it back
I've given LIFE to 3  wonderful children
I've laughed till I cried
And cried when I felt like I was losing my dreams

Yes, I'm 54 years old today, but I'm still on my journey of having these later years of my life be mine.
And I'm
LOVING IT!!!!!!

Do You? Or Is it Just Me?

Have you ever been driving down the road, looking at the people in the other cars, and wonder what their life is like?

Did you ever imagine that you would find awesome friends all over the world, without ever leaving your house?

Do you wonder how hospitals stay in business, because your mind just can't comprehend how many people really do get hurt or need surgery every day?

Do you ever wish you had more guts to try to come up with an idea and have it work and make tons and tons of money?

Have you ever traveled by car, a thousand miles, and wondered how the early settlers did it in covered wagons and horses?

Do you ever wonder what it must feel like if you are drowning?

Do you ever wish that your job was a food critic?

Just a few things going through my mind this morning.   Scary, isn't it.
