Scavenger Hunt Sunday - 7.10.11

Here I go again, being sucked into photo taking.  But I love it.  Thanks Ashley.

Weather

This photo was taken yesterday, July 9, 2011.  The temps outside, in the 80's.  We had so much snow this year it still covers the tops of the mountains.  In fact, Snowbird Ski Resort was open for skiing July 4th.

Scavenger Hunt Sunday - 6.26.11

I know, you are as surprised as me.  Once again with the sweet promptings of Christy at My Mad Mind, I put on my big girl panties and became the little engine that could.

"I can take photos', I can take photos"

I fell under the "I"m not good enough" spell and stopped trying.  But this week Ashley at Ramblings and Photos, gave us prompts of things that I thought I could undertake.

Welcome to my gallery

WINDOWS/DOORS

This is the doorway into my home.  It was the very first thing that I fell in love with when were looking for a house to buy.

EYELASHES
My daughter-in-law has eyelashes that I wish I had.

PAINT
I know this isn't the traditional "paint" photo.  Mr. Dazee painted the walls on the top level of our home during the winter since he couldn't do his landscaping.   Miss A, 3 year old granddaughter, decided to help bapa one day with the taping.  I think she did a fabulous job.

LEAF VEINS
From the plant in my office.

FACELESS PORTRAIT
I love this photo.  It is Miss A on the left, and Miss O on the right.  They are the best of friends.  We were at the local amusement park when I snapped this photo.

Scavenger Hunt Sunday - 2.20.11

Ola Amigos.  And that is the extent of my Spanish.  :)

It's Scavenger Hunt time again, hosted by our ever gracious Ashley Sisk at Ramblings and Photos

Are you ready for some Pho-to's (said in my best are you ready for some football voice)

Chocolate
I would have to say this was the best chocolate covered strawberry I have  ever had.  The strawberry was so sweet, and it was smothered in chocolate.  Total F.O.

Numbers
Holy moly, numbers almost got to me, but then, I have to look at freaking numbers at least 4 times a day.  Being diabetic does have it's advantages. :)

Canned Food
This could also have been used for stack but I had a much better photo for that.  Now I'm craving some sweet and sour chicken.
Music
My hubby, the music collector.  I bought this picture for him last year.  I saw it and it was sooooo him.  It hangs in his man cave.
Stack
Valentines Day (well Sunday) trip to Sizzler.  Home of the best salad bar ever.  He had stacked almost everything available on his salad.  Told you I had a better one for stack.

Next weeks prompts look a little bit on the hard side.  But then, when aren't I complaining about something, right.  Of course right.

Blurred

Hell, you would have thought this weeks prompts were blur.  My blood sugars must have been playing with my eyes.  I took a lot of blurring shots last week.

Anyphotos, try this out, its mega fun.

Scavenger Hunt Sunday - 2.13.11

Time for our weekly scavenger hunt.  Are you ready for my thinking outside of the box.  I sure hope so, because, this week I did.  Because I can.  It's my blog. :)

Go on over to Ramblings and Photos for some more photos on the same prompts.  You will be inspired.
Shadows
This is one of the guys at work.  He is usually so clean shaven.  Head and face.  By the end of one of the days last week, he was looking like this.  I called it his 5 o'clock SHADOW.  (remember, thinking outside of the box)

Patterns/Repetition
The bar codes on cans of corn.

Bright White
If you have been reading my blog for any amount of time, you know my love of going to the office supply store.  Bright white was a hard prompt for me this week.  Until I found these binder clips.

Strong
I have to thank my work this week for a couple of these photos.  The first time I saw a guy lift pipe with the forklift it made my heart race.  But they are super strong.  That is quite a bit of weight on there.  Can't you just see his "what in the heck are you doing" look on his face.  :)

Warmth
My favorite photo of the bunch.  Friday, we actually had some sun.  All I could think was the warmth that the sun gives us.  This was taken outside on my deck.  I'm counting down the days till spring is really here.

Another fun week.  Let's see what we have in store for next week.

Yum, chocolate. :)

Scavenger Hunt Sunday - 2.6.11

Time to link up to Ashley with her Scavenger Hunt Sunday.  This week was really quite fun for me.  I actually went out in search of the prompts, just like a real scavenger hunt.  I had a blast.

Lets get started.  I know you are just sitting on pins and needles.

Water
We have this fishing pond where I live.  You can fish in it all year long.  Not only is it water in it's natural form, but there's the ice form, and the snow form.  The ducks are also a year round fixture.

Quote
I love my grandkids.  I'm sure you see me talk about them all the time.  Remember summer?  That nice season when there is sun and shorts.  Yeah, me too.

 Window
I'm sure a lot of you have heard of the mega Stampin' Up!  It's all things scrapbooking.  This building is their corporate headquarters.  It is also near where I live.  It is actually one of the coolest buildings I have seen.  Has a lot of character to it.  And the windows are every direction and so cool.  That is the front entryway.  This photo can't even do justice to how awesome those windows are.

Activity
How cool was it that a man decided, that yesterday, cold and all, he wanted to go fish.  I got two prompts at the same place.  Yeah, I was sneaky getting him.  Just started with the ducks and ended with him.

Here's what next week is going to bring us.

  1. Shadows
  2. Patterns/Repetition
  3. Bright White
  4. Strong
  5. Warmth
Hope you all have a great, no snow, day.  Except for the 2 people that love it, who shall remain nameless, but you know who you are.

Scavenger Hunt Sunday - 1.30.11

Confession time.  My photo taking mojo just wasn't in the best mode a week ago, so I didn't do last Sunday's Scavenger Hunt.  But this week I'm back in fine form.  Ok, my form, but I'm back.  Give me a break.

If you would like to see other fine photo taking abilities of the same subjects head on over to Ashley's place at Ramblings And Photo's.  There are so many amazing photographers out there.  I feel privileged to be part of the group.

Texture
Thank goodness a rep brought in pastries this past week.  As I walked past the box, I heard something calling my name.  "Dazee, Dazee, I'm here for my photo shoot".  I'm usually not a big turnover fan, unless of course they are my favorite cherry, but I thought this was a great texture opportunity.

 Fog
I was actually thankful to see fog yesterday morning.  I was starting to get worried about being able to get some kind of photo.  All sorts of ideas were floating through my head.  I love the quiet of the mornings in my city, and this was right across the street.

 Button
I decided to think outside the box on the "button" prompt.  This is the button you push to open the doors at the bank.  I told my favorite tellers that I was going to be taking a photo when I left so not to get all weirded out.  David, teller extraordinaire, told me that there is actually a little button behind the big button that gets pushed.  So I included the picture.

It's the tiny little button in the center.
A customer sitting in his car on his phone must have thought I was weird.  Good thing you already know that. :)

 Beverage or Drink
This prompt wasn't that easy to come up with this week.  So I went with my old standby.  My morning cup of coffee.  Ok, weekend cup, I don't make me any before I go to work.  Plus I love the awesome cup that my cousin gave me.  It matches the colors of my kitchen.
 Seventies
When I first saw this prompt, I was, great.  How am I going to do something 70's?  Then yesterday, my brain once again kicked in.  Duh, Dazee, you were in high school during the seventies.  I've always wondered why I saved my yearbooks all this time.  Thank goodness my senior yearbook had the date as proof.

There you go.  Another week down.  Next weeks prompts are:

Those look like an interesting week of photo taking.

Scavenger Hunt Sunday - 1.16.10

This weeks prompts were hard.  OK, they are all hard because I'm just little ole Dazee.  But Ashley at Ramblings and Photo's has faith in all of us that we can do it.  Thanks for the faith Ashley.
    A Different View
I had to use two photos this week for this prompt.  My cool nephew Carl works at Kennecott Copper Mine here in Utah.  He gets to drive one of those huge trucks down into the mine.  I cheated and asked him to get me the photos since, well, mere humans like me are not allowed in the mine.  The photo above is from his window looking down into the mine
I fell in love with the photo below the minute I saw it.  It is taken on top of the mine looking down into the Salt Lake valley.  This is a different view.  One that a lot of us don't ever get to witness.
    Looking Up
For this prompt I pulled Mike, one of the guys I work with, kicking and screaming, out into the warehouse.  Threatened him with bodily harm asked him nicely if he would get on the cherry picker and go to the very top shelf on one of the aisles so I could get a photo looking up.  What a good sport.  Me, my heart would have been pounding a thousand beats per minute.  I'm terrified of heights if I don't have any walls around me.
    Abstract
I had to look abstract up on Dictionary.com just so I would really know what I could get away with for this prompt.  Way to make me use what little brain cells I have left Ashley.
    Hair
I love this photo I took of my cousin April's hair.  I love how all the colors that were used are so vibrant.  And yes, that is natural curl you see.
    Half
One of the hardest prompts I had this week.  Hell, they were all hard.  But my thinking cap was missing so I just came up with a couple of pieces of half eaten candy.  Yeah, it was awful for me having to make them into half pieces too.  :)
Now, if I can do this, you guys can do this.  Try it, you will be hooked.
    Next weeks prompts:

    1. Memories
    2. Silhouette
    3. Doorway(s)
    4. Reflection
    5. Silver

Scavenger Hunt Sunday - 1.9.11

Time again for Scavenger Hunt Sunday hosted by Ashley at Ramblings & Photos.  I really enjoyed the prompts this week because it really made me think about what I wanted pictures of.

This is Me
I'm such the hard worker.  haha, snort.  It was so cold in my office one day that I went out and grabbed my gloves.  Yeah, they're purple.  Notice all the other purple surrounding me.
Resolutions
Idiot drivers.  My one and only resolution was to not have road rage on Sundays.  Notice the snow covered back window of the car.  The laziness of some people not cleaning off their windows.  Sorry about the quality, I took this picture while driving.  What?

Treasured
This picture was drawn by my six year old grandson, Mr. C.  The smiling object is the sun, the object by it is the meteor breaking up the fight with the moon on the other side of it.  The yellow object with red spots is a star rupturing.  The animal on the grass is a lion with a long tail.  He told me what each and everything was, I wrote it on there and dated the picture.  I will always treasure it.

Innocence
This is my granddoggy Zooey.  She's trying to be all innocent about chewing up the wall.  Ha, right Zooey.

Primitive
What better items of primitive but those of how music was made before Ipods.  I've mentioned that my husband has a vast record collection.  I would say between albums, 45's, cassettes, 8-tracks and cd's he has well over 20000 items.  And yes, he has all the equipment to play them too.

This was a fun week.  Try this meme.  It is awesome.  Especially if you love taking photos.

Next weeks prompts are:

A Different View
Looking Up
Abstract
Hair
Half

Yikes, looks like this is going to be a hard week coming up.  Must get my thinking cap freshened up and on.
