Reality Blog Award

*** Stepping Up To Microphone ***

Ummm, hi.  I would like to thank Joey at Joey's Pad for passing on the Reality Blog Award to one of his favorite people.  Ok, probably just in my mind, but heck, I'll take it.

Of course, he wants to know things about me that could be exciting for you to know about me as well.

All I can say is, grab your favorite drink, sit down, keep your arms and legs inside, and have fun.

1.  If you could change one thing in your life, what would it be?
Honestly, I wouldn't want to change anything.  Except for maybe learning a little bit earlier in life, that we are given experiences to learn and grow from.  I also believe that we are sometimes given things, say like my diabetes, to someday be able to help others with the same disease.  Of which is the case with my cwason's four year old daughter who was diagnosed with it a couple of months ago.  I was able to help both her and her daughter through the learning process of testing and shooting up.

2.  If you could repeat any age, which would it be?
When I was a elementary school age kid, grades 4 through 6, we would go out during recess and play Lost In Space.  The TV show was big then.  (this was in the late 60's, give me a break)  We would climb up to the top of the monkey bars,
Sit on the top of them and pretend we were the Robinson family.  Aaahhhh, to go back to those days, just once, would be a little piece of heaven.

3.  What really scares you?
Mice
Terrified.  Scream.  Jump up on chairs, pee myself.
Yeah.  Did I mention I'm scared of mice?

4.  If you could be someone else for a day, who would you be?
I have no idea why this one keeps popping in my head but I'm just going to put it out there.
Lady Godiva
(not to be confused with lady Gaga)
Yup, there I am, all blond and skinny and riding the horse naked through the streets.  Maybe it's because she didn't care what the world thought.  She was her own person.  But then, I'm not a huge history buff, so I might be wrong about why she did it, but still.  La-de-da, not a care in the world.

Ok, pull your eyes away from my nakedness........
I must now give this award to some people.  A lot of times I don't do that because, well, I want anyone who wants to have the award to have it.  But I'm going to give it to some people today that I think deserve it.

Her blog is all about keeping it real.  Except when she is trying her hardest to make me jealous of the big get togethers around the bonfire.  Not nice Angel, not nice.

She is one of the sweetest people I know.

She has a sense of humor that gets me every time.

Kim has a way of letting me know, that I can be the best mom I can be.  The things that she has had to go through in her life, make me wonder if I could ever be as good as her.

There.  Now go check out these ladies.  You will be glad that you did.

A Little Blog Love

Felicia at My Personal Legend awarded me this award a couple of weeks ago.  According to the simple rules:

Simply pass it on to 5 bloggers that I love that have under 300 followers

So easy even I can do that.  I don't even have to answer questions or nothing.
A.W.E.S.O.M.E.

5 Bloggers I love.

Where Did They Hide Me.  Wow.  This is a brand new blog, and let me tell you, it is raw emotional truth.  Please check her out.  Oh, and to have her continuing story make sense, click the little thing that says, "read my story in order".

Joey's Pad.  I love this guy.  Another raw blogger that has things to say.  I kind of would love to hear his accent because he lives in England.  Yeah, I'm weird like that.

Just Call Me Jake.  Oh my, she is a hoot.  She finds some off the wall video's and is always cracking me up.  Of course, I'm the one that will laugh out loud in the card aisle at the store.

Just Plain Tired.  A man working in the retail world.  I love his worthless coworker stories.  He took a 6 month sabbatical, because, well his apartment was hit by a tornado on May 22nd.  Really makes you think about what is important in your life.

Up From The Ashes.  She's a zombie lover, a weirdo (but so am I), and she totally rocked out a song that I wrote.  I mean, really, what's not to love about someone that will do that for you.

I know that you won't be disappointed if you check them out.

Also, speaking of easy and someone being disappointed.

Photobucket
I am having so much faith in you guys showing off your photo's, and I guess you are all just too busy.  I'm loving showing off my photo's.  I love to see your photo's.  Me and Crazy Christy would just love you to pieces if you would link on up every Thursday.

Next weeks prompts.

And That's The Way It Is

A couple of weeks ago I received the Versatile Blogger Award from The Charming Mad Chatter.  Because there were rules involved, of which there were tell us something about you, I couldn't think of anything I haven't told you.  Thank you Mad Chatter for the award.

So in the spirit of what I do best, I stole these questions from Byzantium's Shores.  They were different and didn't have to use too much brain power.   Well, ok, there was a lot of brain power involved, but I just had to answer the questions, telling the truth, the whole truth, so help me God.  You may be seated.

If you could go back in time and relive one moment, what would it be?
Wow,  this is a hard one.  Only because I really wouldn't want to go back and live any of my life again.  No, it wasn't all fun and games, but I just don't want to go back.  I'm having the time of my life right now.

If you could g back in time and change one thing, what would it be?
I think that I would go back to when I was in my 20's.  What would I change?  I would change the way I was back then about being scared to be my own person.  Feeling like I had to do as my parents told raised me to do and be.   Sticking up for my feelings about things.  Not being afraid that I would hurt someone because it wasn't exactly what they wanted.

What movie/TV character do you most resemble in personality?
I am going with Quiser in Steel Magnolias.  She acts like
she is all mean and ornery but there is a sweet side to her that she keeps hidden away.

If you could push one person off a cliff and get away with it, who would it be?
Only one?  How about a group of the same kind of people.  Hey I don't always follow the rules.
Politicians?  Is anyone else already tired of the "running for office" bullshit.  No, not them, close second tho.
Child, wife and husband abusers.  All types.  Yup, they are the ones being pushed off the cliff.  Can't stand how they bring people to such a low and get away with it.  If you see a big ole piece of equipment coming at you, you know you've been caught.

Name one habit you want to change in yourself.
Yikes.  A habit.  hmmmm, ok, I'm going with my love affair with all things pastry.  That is a bad habit.

Describe yourself in one word.
Nutty

Why do you blog? (In one sentence)
One sentence?  Are you kidding me?  Ok, here goes.
I blog because it lets me get things off my chest, or promote other people, and show off my kids, and try to bring laughter into others lives, with once in a while a cry fest to make you cry.
Phew that was a long sentence and would totally get me a D in English class. :)

Now I'm supposed to give this award to some of you.  I hate this part.  You don't see your name on here and you start crying.  Then you send me hate emails.  Then I cry for days and I am not pretty when I cry.

So, if you want to grab these questions, go ahead.  I look forward to seeing how you would answer them.

Shameless Promotion or NOT

Here's the deal-le-o.  I have entered again this year in A Daft Scots Lass Tattoo Challenge.  I don't expect to win, but I would love for you to go over and vote for your favorite.

There are some awesome, cool tattoo's up for the challenge, and the reasons behind them are so cool.

Like I said, don't vote for me unless you like mine.  But do vote for the others that have entered.  They would love it if you did.

The contest ends Wednesday.

Thanks guys.  You rock.

Tag I'm It

Michele at Bodacious Boomer decided that we were having a game of tag, and darn it all, I'm it.

I get to answer some questions, and then play the game with 8 bloggers.  Are you in anticipation?  I am.

Do you think you’re hot?
At the moment I'm a little chilly.  Could be because we have yet to have springlike weather for more than one day the whole month of May.  Oh wait, do you mean Hot Mama, sizzle.  Why yes, yes I am.

Upload a photo that you’re using right now
Is this some kind of trick question.  Like am I using a certain picture on my computer?  Am I using some kind of item?  I'll go with an item.
Need I say more.

When was the last time you ate chicken?
Monday, May 23rd.  Went to our very favorite place, Thai Delight.  Got the Kung Pao Chicken, which they actually call, ummm let me just show you the picture.
Usually I'm not a big fan of chinese Kung Pao chicken because they put peanuts in it.  WAY...TOO...MANY...PEANUTS.  Thai Delight puts cashews in theirs and Thai food is spicy.  Like me. :)  Even tho I go with the mild because wow, medium about killed me the one time I tried that.  The veggies it it are carrots, mushrooms, baby corn (which I always eat at least one of them like Tom Hanks in Big).   Yeah, I'm addicted, so what.

The song/songs you listened to lately.
hmmmm. *scratching head*  Nothing changes by the Moody Blues

Do you have any nicknames?
Not that I know of.

Tag eight blogger friends.

Who’s listed at #1?
Mark.  Him and his partner have the cutest kids ever.  His blog is one of those that always makes me feel good.  Whoever I found his blog on, sent me to an awesome place.

Say something about #5
June Freaking Cleaver.  I love this woman.  She got me addicted to Saturday Centus and has always encouraged me to keep writing.  Plus there was that time she thought I couldn't go a day without being meanI showed her.

How did you get to know #3?
Baby Sister is the sister of Noelle at Because Nice Matters.  When she started blogging, Noelle asked her followers to check her out.  I fell in like with her blog the moment I read it.  She's cute, and sweet, and she even sent me homemade chocolate chip cookies.  *sigh* Both her and her sister are so nice and actually only live about 30 minutes away from me, so one day I shall surprise them and show up at the nursery they work at.  Oh yeah, I will.

How about #4?
Christy is the person that got me going on photo taking opportunities.  Again, she is so good at encouraging me to continue and she is a real person.  Works right now in the Customer Service phone type job, and honestly, I take my hat off to her because I would be fired after the 2nd time I told people where they could take it and put it. :)

Leave a message for #6
Dear Opto-Mom.  You always make me laugh.  I have a feeling that if we were ever to hang out, we might be arrested.  But think of the blogging opportunities that would bring.

 Have a lovey-dovey message for #2?
Oh Joey, what can I say.  The moment I set eyes on you, my heart started racing.  Then, I started reading your posts, and I knew then and there that I was going to stalk you.  But in a good way.  You better watch out the next time you and your partner are in Arizona.  You might just see me peeking in your windows.

Do #7 and #8 have similarities?
Angel and Renee.  What can I say.  They both make me laugh.  They are both real people.  Someday I would love to meet both of them.  Renee and I already skype or text all day long.  Angel is too scared.  I kid.  She just doesn't know me that well yet.  I promise Angel, I'm really sarcastic nice.

Ok you lucky 8.  Your turn to continue playing.

Snowshoes And Toboggans

Debra at Writing With Debra has bestowed upon me The Versatile Blogger award.  She found me through the writing meme I do on Saturdays.  Which, as you can tell from her blog name, she is a writer.  I am not.  Thanks Debra.  (whew, got one of the rules out of the way).

Rule number 2.  Tell 7 things that I NEVER HAVE MENTIONED BEFORE.  People, haven't I told you just about everything?  Haven't I told you about my long term memory problem?  Ok, ok, I will do it.  Freak.

  1. When I was 3, I sent our cat snowball, across the street to my sister, where she met a gruesome death.
  2. Unlike Debra, I will not wake up super early to watch the Royal Wedding.
  3. When I was 19 I went snowshoeing and thought for sure I was going to die.  The altitude about did me in.
  4. The one and only time I ever went skiing, I wiped out and got had to ride in the fun and exciting rescue toboggan.  My mom was super pissed at me because she didn't want me to go in the first place.
  5. White chocolate Kit Kat's have become my newest favorite candy bar.
  6. If you don't blog in a while, and you all know who you are baby sister, I get really worried about you.  Don't do that to me.  Get back to blogging.  My wish is your command.
  7. I get totally weirded out seeing other people's toenail clippings.
Next rule.  Award the award to others.  My least favorite thing to do, because well, I love all of you that I follow.  Here are some that I'm giving it to this time tho, for different reasons.  I read an eclectic range of people.  They all "say" things to me in different ways.  They make me laugh, and cry and want to hurt people for them.

Don't fret my little buck-a-roo's.  If I ever get another award, your chance will come up.  I'm an equal opportunity award giver-outter.

What Can I Say

Jenny at My Life As Jenny, is one freaking funny lady.  And apparently, she thinks I'm kind of hot too.  (not hot as in "hello sexy" hot, funny hot).  Coming from someone who constantly cracks me up, I'm touched.  Don't say it, I know what you're thinking, "yeah Dazee, touched in the head a wee bit".  Stop it guys, your hurting my feel bads. :(

The Rules are as follows............

1.)  Copy and paste this award to your blog
(okey dokey)

2.)  Thank and link to the person that tagged you with it.
Jenny, I'm beside myself with joy.  Not another personality named Joy standing beside me, just......, oh you figure it out.

3.)  List 7 facts about yourself
On their way

4.)  Give the award to 5 other bloggers and tell them they have it.
Oh goodie, the pressure

7 Wonderful, fascinating, exciting things I haven't told you yet.

1.  I love asparagus.  I don't remember my mom making it when I was a kid, but now, oh my, I love that stuff.  And call me crazy, but I actually like it the best out of cans, not fresh.  I know, right.

2.  I got a new tattoo while on my girls trip.  (ssshhhh, I haven't told the hubby yet, oh wait, hi honey, by the way I got a new tattoo, love you tons)
It's a Gothic butterfly to go along with my other butterflies.  It's actually the one my cousin really wants, but her husband would freak if she gets one, so I got it for her.  I think it kind of rocks.  (ps for hubby:  this was one of the expenses of the trip I didn't have to pay for babe, aren't you happy?) (ps for those reading this:  I'm doing major suck up here, can you tell)

3.  Yesterday, at precisely 6:36 AM, the 5 year, 60000 mile warranty, ran out on my car.
Still have up to 100,000 miles till the power train warranty runs out.  And no, I have no idea what that is.  :)

4:  I heart Abby on NCIS.
Her character is so awesome.  She's goth but so cute and freaking smart.  I want to be her when I grow up.

5.  Coke Slurpees are the best invention EVER.   When you are slurping away on one of them you really do have a "coke and a smile".

6.  Speaking of coke.  Coke Zero is tons better than Pepsi Max.
And for all of you that think Coke Zero taste like Diet Coke (you know who you are), you are sadly mistaken.  Another little known fact.  Coke Zero came out about a month after I was diagnosed with Type 1 Diabetes.  You have never seen a person that was so happy about that.
The look of Coke Zero is so much sexier too.  rawr.

7.  When I microwave popcorn, I also melt butter and pour it all over it.
Thank you to Marisa McClellan for having a picture on google for exactly what I wanted. Now doesn't that just make you want to grab a Coke Zero and have at it?
Apparently I was hungry while working on this post.  :)
Now on to 5 bloggers that I'm giving this award to.
The part I hate.  Now wait, not that I hate giving it to someone, just hate not shouting out to everyone.
Christy at My Mad Mind
Kimberly at All Work and No Play Makes Mommy Go Something Something
 The Bipolar Diva

These are just the ones I'm giving a special shout-out to this time around.  I love all of their blogs for different reasons.  They all make me laugh at times, cry at times and have overcome some things that make me strive to be a better person, and they aren't afraid to put it all out there on their blogs.

Also, if you want to do this, please take the picture.  I love to find out stuff about you guys.  Pretty please, with a cherry on top.

Walking The Red Carpet

I received some awards the last couple of week.  Being the cool person I am, I dressed up in my best dress and accepted them with pride.

The first one was from Jenny at My Life As Jenny
I tell you what.  This girl makes me laugh.  Hard.  I can't believe she thinks I'm funny.  But Jenny, thanks bunches. *blush*

The second one comes from Marti at MarviMarti

What the heck girl, me, stylish?  Well, I did get the new hairdo, as did you.  We rock.

Rules, schmules.  I'm supposed to tell you 7 things about myself.  Too hard.  So I stole some of the questions that Sunday Stealing had a few week ago.  Hows that for things about myself.  (say it, you are impressed, I'll wait)

1. What is your favorite Mexican dish?
Gosh.  I would have to say a sweet pork burrito from Cafe Rio.  Smothered with medium sauce.
Are you hungry now or what?

2. When you were a kid, did you get started on your homework right away after school, or did you procrastinate?
Homework?  What is this thing you call homework.  I'm a true blue, never do, homework.  Ok, I did the bare minimum but none of this do 4 hours of the crap every night.  Being a kid is too short.  Have some fun.  Yeah, I was a bad mom, when my kids said, I hate homework, I would agree.  :)

3. What is your favorite store for home furnishings?
Anywhere that has a nice piece of furniture that doesn't cost an arm and a leg.

4. When you were young, did you like school lunches?
How young are we talking?  When I was in elementary school, I lived about 1 block away from the school so I went home everyday.  Middle school it was, buy crap (yes, crap, like candy bars at the student union.  How do you think I got such the voluptuous figure)  High school I actually enjoyed the school lunch.  I ate salads a lot.  That is where I found my love for blue cheese dressing.

5. Is religion a crutch?
Like a crutch when you break a leg.  No, I get those from the pharmacy.
6. In your region, what is the “big” high school sport?
Football.

7. Do you consider yourself rich?
I consider myself rich when it comes to my husband, kids and grandkids.

8. Which of these would you have the best chance administering:
A) CPR
B) Heimlich Maneuver
C) Changing a flat tire
Probably the Heimlich maneuver.  CPR ummm no, changing a flat tire, could probably do it but I would probably play the "poor woman" card. :)

9. Which dance would you prefer to learn and why:
A) Salsa
B) Hip Hop
C) Waltz
D) Swing
I'm going with Salsa.  Mostly because I have no rhythm in my body whatsoever.  I could probably fake my way through the salsa.  It's got sexy moves, and we all know I'm too sexy for myself, too sexy for my shirt, too sexy.....

10. Name something you learned in college that had nothing to do with classes or academics.
Hahahaha, hehehehehe.  College.  Didn't you read number 2.  Me and school were not the best of friends.  Oh, I graduated high school in the middle of my class, but to go to college, ummm, no.  I would say the thing I learned about college is you pay a lot of money that someday you have to pay back.  Please don't be hating.  It just wasn't my cup-o-tea.

Now I'm supposed to give this award to a bunch of bloggers.  I can't do it.  I can't list every single one of you.  It tears my heart out to leave people out.  So here's the deal.  Please, please, please, if you want either of these awards, grab it.  You can say I gave it to you if it makes you feel better.  I give it to those of you that make me laugh out loud at work.  I give it to those who make me get goosebumps.  I also give it to those of you that hate the winter.  Also those who have had horrible, rotten things happening to them right now.  You are all fantastic bloggers and deserve these awards.  Go ahead, they're yours.  You're welcome.

She Thinks I'm Funny

1. Link to the person who gave you this award
This award was given to me by Christy at My Mad Mind.  Christy, you know I love you, cuz I did win your big mouth award last month. :)

2. Pass the award along to seven other people who post about at least slightly amusing things and tell them.  Seven is not going to happen.  And what it up with 7 always being the number on these buttons.  That's just odd.  :)

Kimberly at All Work And No Play Makes Mommy Go Something Something
Michele at Bodacious Boomer.
Opto-Mom

These ladies make me laugh most the time.  If you don't follow them, you should.
3. Say seven things about yourself that no one knows (or at least you think no one knows).Oh, I see how this award is.  Things no one knows, hmmm, like I've kept any secrets from you guys.  Thinking cap in place, hmmm.........

1.  I'm OCD when it comes to eating potato chips.  I'll pour them all out of the bag or baggie and arrange them in piles according to size.  Then I will eat the smallest first and work my way to the full size, delectable ones.

2.  Doorjambs jump out and attack me all the time.  They must be very attracted to my body, and I can totally see why.  I'm hawt!!

3.  My very first job was making calculators.  Don't laugh.  Someone had to do it.  I worked my way up to flow-solder.  Oh yeah, that was the best you could do there.  The envy of all the workers.  The highest of high echelon.

4.  Odd numbers bug me.  They just aren't right.  I always have to do things in even numbers.  It's a curse.  Even my kids were born on even days.  They knew what was good for them. :)

5.  Speaking of curse.  When I buy gas, I always have to go to the next even number.  Example $35.00, $36.00, you see.

6.  Nancy Drew books made me the murder/mystery book lover that I am.  Darn you Nancy Drew!!

7.  White chocolate kit kats are my newest addiction.  Too bad you can only get them in the darn christmas mix.  breathing, breathing.

Ok, Saturday chores await.  Who am I kidding.  Being lazy awaits.

If Only...

I know I mentioned in my dear letters last week that my 2 oldest grandchildren had taken first place in their Inspirations contest at school.

Miss L's entry was 3rd-5th Grade Digital Art.  (she is in 3rd grade)  She took a picture of the snow at the side of the house using her camera.  She uploaded it to Photobucket and changed the color of it to brown.  She titled hers
'Snow Into Hot Fudge'
And said, "If only snow was hot fudge."  Writing on her entry form that she liked the thought of opposites for her entry.

BEFORE
 AFTER

Mr. C's entry was K-2nd Grade 3D Art.  (he is in 1st grade)  He used the  collection of rocks me and my husband bought him a couple of years ago.  His dad hot glued the rocks where Mr. C wanted.  He then placed each rock where he wanted it on a piece of wood.  He titled it
'Crystal Candle'
and related it to the theme saying, "If only the flame was real fire."

 BEFORE
 AFTER

I am so proud of my grandkids.  I would have never have had the nerve at their ages to try something for a contest like that.

Life Is Good

Life for me right now is good.  (knocking on wood).  As I read all the blogs I am following everyday, I am always grateful that I'm not having to go through some of those awful things that others are going through.

Janet over at Something To Talk About, bestowed the Life Is Good award on me.  Thanks Janet.  She was very nice in telling others why I got it.  (man, do I have her fooled, laughing hysterically to myself)

Of course, no award is ever given without some questions.  Which is ok, because I love to answer them.  And there are no questions today about my crush, so you are all safe.

We now are entering the land of Dazee's mind.
Enter at your own risk.

1. If you blog anonymously, are you happy doing this? If you aren't anonymous, do you wish you started out anonymously, so that you could be anonymous now?
I am not anonymous.  Hell, I can't even say that word right.  I'm glad that I'm not because I hope that sometimes I can make you laugh.  We all need that in our lives.

2. Describe an incident that shows your inner stubborn side.
Stubborn, hum.  Am I stubborn?  I can't even think of an incident that I was stubborn, but I will tell you that if you do something to my kids, as I've blogged about before, you better watch out.  I will climb up your butt and out your mouth before I'm done!!!!

3. What do you see when you really look at yourself in the mirror?
Someone beautiful and stunning.  And then I take a picture of myself, or someone takes one of me, and I'm like, who is that gross monstrosity.  I always think I look better than what I perceive others are seeing.  Kind of like  hearing your voice.  You perceive what you sound like, but then you hear yourself and you are grossed out.

4. What is your favorite summer cold drink?
Coke Zero and water.  With a huge snow cone thrown in every once in a while.

5. When you take time for yourself, what do you do?
Read and Blog.

6. Is there something that you still want to accomplish in your life?
I want to go on a 2 week vacation with my husband.  I know this doesn't sound so awesome to some of you, but he is more of a homebody than me.  Shocking, I know, that someone is worse than me.  I would love to go to some historical sites with him.  He loves things like that and I think it would a great time.  Of course, then I would have to talk him into getting passports because we would have to make Auschwitz one of our stops.  Wish me luck.

7. When you attended school, were you the class clown, the class overachiever, the shy person, or always ditching?
Class clown?  Nope.  Overachiever?  Nope, did just enough to get through school since I hated it so bad.  Shy?  Me shy.  hahahah, hohohhoho. snort.  Moving on. Always ditching?  Only once and got caught.  So I guess I'm none of the above.

8. If you close your eyes and want to visualize a very poignant moment in your life, what would you see?
Seeing my husbands face the first time he looked into the eyes of my daughter when she was born.  Their eyes actually met before she was all the way born.  The feeling in the room at that time is something I will never forget.

9. Is it easy for you to share your true self in your blog, or are you more comfortable writing posts about other people and events?
It's very easy sharing myself on here.  I'm totally open about most things.  Didn't use to be that way.  This blog has been a great thing for me getting tons of stuff off my chest.

10. If you had the choice to sit down and read a book or talk on the phone, which would you do and why?
Read a book.  I'm not the most "lets talk for hours on the phone" type of person.  Books will take you away to places you have never been, and in my case, scare the crap out of me, because someone is always getting murdered.  Now I will talk to you on "text" forever.

Now I'm supposed to give this award to some others.  Remember, if I don't give it to you, please don't unfollow me.  It's just that, well, ummm, I can't give it to 270 people.  That would just take up too much blog space.

The first one goes to my daughter.  She has a blog that is private so I can't send you over to read all her wonderful posts.  Just believe me, if you are lucky enough to read them, she is an awesome person.

LL Cool Joe at Joey's Pad.  Have you ever stopped into someones blog and totally love it the minute you are there.  His was like that for me.  Of course, I would love to hear his voice because he lives in England (right Joey?).  Maybe someday he will do a vlog.  But I digress.  He takes awesome photos, and is a very hip dresser.  Plus, he comments on my posts, so that makes me feel good.

Renee at Renee's Ramblings.  She is a mom and is one of the few people that week after week does my Dear...... meme.  She is funny, and is trying to lose weight, and has worked out everyday since January 1st.  She makes me feel lazy.  Plus, she could use some more followers.  Just sayin.

Chana from Mamma Town.  Another young mother.  Her daughter is adorable and she is taking photography classes.  I wish she lived by me so she could do a family portrait.  Dear Chana, whenever you come my way, please bring your camera.  :)

Those are just a few of the awesome blogs that I read.  Check um out if you aren't already reading them.

Special Things

Went to my diabetes doctor Friday.  Have I ever told you my doctor is the coolest.  She is my age, and I told her she could never retire until I die.  Well, it's true.  One time we rode up in the elevator together, and actually had a conversation about our families.  Tell me, how many of you can say the same thing?  I know you are dying to know how my appointment went.  According to her, I'm the most excellent of patients.  Don't believe me?  I have proof.

And just check out the A1c.  You got it.  6.6%.  I have you people to thank for that.  Instead of vegging and watching TV and eating every night, I'm blogging and reading blogs and forgoing the stomach grumblings.  So a big shoutout thanks to you all!!

Jen over at Love Me or Hate Me had a Christmas Ornament Exchange that I decided to participate in.  I got mine in the mail the other day.

Isn't it so cute.  Thanks to Michelle in Indiana for sending it to me.  Love it.

Moving on to my big mouth.  What, did I say that?  Christy at My Mad Mind does a little thing called the Big Mouth Award.  She has figured out a way that counts all the comments people leave her and who leaves her the most.  It's a monthly thing.  This month I was lucky enough to get the following award.

Honorable because I only commented 19 times.  The winner, 52 times.  Do you know what that means?  She was leaving more than one comment per post.  Geez, she must have wanted it really bad.  But I'm cool with the honorable mention.

Last but certainly not least, My Captivating Images awarded me the Stylist Blogger Award.  I'm supposed to tell you 7 things and give to others, but I'm just way too out of things to tell you about me.  And all of you deserve this award.  So this time I'm just going to thank her for awarding me the award.
That is all.  Now back to your regularly scheduled programming.

Yikes, I'm a Stylish Blogger

Michele of Bodacious Boomer Fame has totally got it in her diluted brain that I have a stylish blog.  What the?  Are you blind girl.  I have no style.  Just strange.  Oh well, as the saying goes, don't look a gift horse in the mouth.  Ummm, whomever came up with that line, was on some sort of good stuff, ya know.

These awards always come with rules.  Rules people.  Do I like rules, no, I don't, but I will post them anyway.

1. Thank and link back to the person who gave it to you. Dear Michele, thanks, but you shouldn't have.  I mean, really, you shouldn't have. :)

2. Share 7 things about yourself.  Seven things I haven't already told you in the last 30 days.

  3. Pay it forward to 15 other recently discovered great bloggers.Pay it forward to 15 recently discovered great bloggers?  Dear award creators and maker of rules.  15 bloggers that I just discovered.  Not going to happen.  One, some bloggers hate to get rewards.  They leave little disclaimers on their blog.  Others I haven't "recently" discovered.  They have been along for the ride for a long time.  Next, when I don't pick fellow bloggers, some of them get so upset that their names aren't listed that I feel all bad inside.  Oh, the agony.  Whatever shall I do.

4. Contact those bloggers and tell them about their award.

Seven things. What haven't I already told you. Thinking.....thinking....thinking.

1.  Being a woman of 53, I'm either hot or cold.  It sucks.  One minute I'm in a long sleeve shirt, the next I'm in a short sleeved shirt.

2.  Rainy, gray days depress the crap out of me.

3.  When I yell at my kids, my mom's voice comes out of my mouth.  It is muy (pronounced moo-e) scary.

4.  I have been known to laugh hysterically in the card aisle at the store.

5.  I would rather eat Crab Legs than Lobster.

6.  They say that admitting to something is the first step to recovery.  Hi, my name is Dazee, and I'm addicted to blogging.

7.  I hate the saying, sticks and stones will break my bones, but words will never hurt me.  Who came up with this saying?  Words can be very mean and hurtful.  They can bring someone to their knees faster than those stupid sticks and stones.

Ok, here are a few blogs that I'm giving this award to.  Please, please, please don't be upset if I didn't hand one to you.  If you have had a blog that has touched me in some way in the past few weeks, it sticks in my mind and I just want to show you off to others.  That is how my mind works.  K?

Kimberly at All Work And No Play.  She was hurt on her job as a nurse, and the place of her employment is always trying to get out of covering her.  She is in constant pain.  But she is so sweet and kind, except to the rat bastards that think she doesn't deserve to be covered.  I heart you Kimberly.

Shelia at Opto-Mom.  Her post on When a Reservation Really Isn't a Reservation, totally had me wanting to write an email for her.  I would do it too Shelia, oh you know I would.

Mom's Sanity Is Making A Comeback.  She has been sober since August 4th of 2009 and just went to a wedding in Las Vegas.  I appreciate how hard it was for her being there, and without a friend that she could text, she might have caved in.  I give her a big ole standing ovation for not giving in while her family members were trying to get her to drink.

Just Plain Crazy.  A mans perspective of working in the retail world.  His post this last week about what he is going to do for Thanksgiving really touched my heart.  He just mostly cracks me up with his verbatim conversations.  Love him.

Ok there are my picks this week.  I didn't even think I would pick anyone, but I felt the pressure.  Go check them out.  You'll be glad you did.
