1905-1907
The saying at the bottom is kind of hard to read but it says
"Earth has one pure spirit less
Heaven one inmate more"
This one was so awesome. Look at the date on it.
1865-1901
In one of the ghost towns she drove me through, we happened upon this hospital site marker.
1902-1933
Also in the cemetery there were all these grave markers. They marked where people are buried, but no names or dates. I found that incredibly sad. They were all over the place.
MY CHOICE
Last Sunday, January 22, 2012, We had a snow storm. Much to our surprise, it didn't hit the whole city. We drove approximately 5 miles from our street and this is what it looked like.
Now, take a gander at our home.
And we wonder why the weather people can never get it right. hmmmmm

I knew you would have cool shots of the cemetery. Nice set of shots today my dear!
ReplyDeleteThank Christy. It was a fun trip.
DeleteLove the shots today...there is an old cemetery up the hill from where I live that death dates the newest one is 1915 I have pictures of it.....like I told Christy that I have been under the weather..
ReplyDeleteHope your week is great
Gina
Thanks. Hope you have a nice week too.
DeleteWhat the weirdness!
ReplyDeleteHow is it even possible that you got all that snow and just down the road it didn't.
Freaky.
I know. It totally freaked me out.
DeleteYour snow looks so much more powdery and fun than ours did. Ours was fun for 1/2 a day, then an ice storm came and put a solid sheet of ice on top of it. Add gray blustery skies and more snow/hail/ice = no fun. The kids missed 3 days of school!
ReplyDeleteThe grandkids had a blast. Me, I no likey the snow.
DeleteI wish we had snow. Actually, no I don't, it's a pain in the butt, however pretty it looks.
ReplyDeleteNice photos. Btw Did you know Picnik is closing in April? What a nightmare!
I think my photos are bit off the wall this week, sorry! :D
Snow is a big pain in the butt. Especially for my husband. Our driveway is on an incline so its always scary to see him out there shoveling.
DeleteI think cemeteries are fascinating places and this was a great idea for the prompt! I just couldn't come up with anything to join in this week.
ReplyDeleteI love the graveyard photos. That is one thing I adore about living in the south, all the awesome graveyards. The second tombstone is amazing!
ReplyDeleteAnd oh my at all that snow! I am just glad it is all up there and not here.
Old graveyards are crazy... I was in Cape Cod once, and at the place we stayed there was an old graveyard across the street. Saw gravestones from the 17 and 1800s... it was wild. So many died so young. Guess they couldn't get into the good HMOs.
